Rome

Rome is undeniably one of the most fascinating cities in the world: it is the archaeological testimony of the mighty Roman Empire, the centre of Christendom and a lively cosmopolitan metropolis with galleries and museums to suit all tastes.

Although the city is extensive the historical centre is compact and easily accessible from the school's location near Via Veneto and Villa Borghese. From the Colosseum to the Forum, Vatican City and Trevi Fountain, a walking tour of the city's historic and cultural sites is possible in a couple of days.

Of course Rome offers the visitor more than just culture, with a wide selection of shops, pizzerias and side-walk cafés where you can sit and watch the world go by and sample some of the best-loved culinary delights Italy has to offer.

Rome is situated halfway down the west coast of Italy and boasts a climate which is enviable even by Italian standards: relatively mild in winter and pleasantly hot in the summer. At a distance of only 20 miles from the beach and an hour's drive from the mountains, Rome is perfectly located to combine the best of city life and outdoor activities.
